Yahoo & Nokia unites to give out the best to their users!

New York, USA – Today Yahoo! and Nokia have joined forces to create enhanced, online experiences that help you communicate and locate. The pair have been working together over the past five years on a number of projects, from launching Yahoo! Go Mobile on Nokia devices to Nokia devices’ ability to upload pics onto Flickr. This latest venture, their biggest to date, will see improvements to email, instant messaging, maps and navigation services. Join us after the break to find out what changes the new alliance will bring.
As part of the alliance Nokia will be the exclusive provider of Yahoo!’s maps and navigation services, branded as “powered by Ovi.”  Nokia brings its ample experience in top-drawer, location-based products and maps to Yahoo!’s users.  In turn, Yahoo! will become the exclusive global provider of Nokia’s Ovi Mail and Ovi Chat services, branded as “powered by Yahoo!.”  Yahoo! brings its expertise in world-class internet offerings to the table for Ovi users.
Changes will also come in the form of Nokia and Yahoo! working together to improve access to a number of services. Initially, users with an Ovi ID will be able to unlock a myriad of handy internet and handset-based goodness from both partners. Some of the pain involved in trying to remember which of your hundreds of passwords you used may soon be over.
Olli-Pekka Kallasvuo, CEO, Nokia had this to say about the announcement:
“We’re enabling millions of Yahoo! customers in key markets including North America to discover the unique capabilities that Ovi Maps brings. Similarly, Yahoo!’s online expertise will bring exciting mail and messaging enhancements to millions of Ovi Mail customers across almost every country around the world, many of whom will have their first Internet experience on their mobile.”
Carol Bartz, CEO, Yahoo! joined OPK in his enthusiasm:
“We’re excited to expand the reach of our best-in-class Mail and Messenger services, bringing personalized experiences to more people across the mobile Web, particularly in emerging markets where we are seeding the next generation of Yahoo! users. At the same time, we believe Nokia’s strength and continued investment in maps and navigation will greatly enhance our existing products, enabling us to focus on areas that are core to our business.”
The collaboration will see benefits to both Yahoo! and Nokia. Nokia will be able to engage with Yahoo!’s millions of users, particularly in the U.S. and vice versa. Ovi Mail regulars will be able to tap into new experiences and it’ll extend Yahoo!’s reach in emerging markets. All in all, it looks a pretty rosy deal.
Select co-branded offerings are expected to become available from the second half of 2010, with global availability in 2011.

An Artificial Butterfly Takes its Flight!

A tiny artificial butterfly takes flight in a new high-speed video.
Engineers Hiroto Tanaka and Isao Shimoyama of Harvard University and University of Tokyo, respectively, created the tiny butterfly to try to understand the biomechanics of butterfly flight.
But the tiny machine may not teach us too much about how butterflies actually row through the air, said Robert Dudley, a physiologist at the University of California, Berkeley, co-author of the research to be published May 20 in the journal Bioinspiration & Biomimetics.
“As a technical accomplishment, this work is impressive, but there are a number of aerodynamic and biological issues that need further attention,” Dudley wrote in an e-mail to Wired.com.
Butterfly flight is somewhat mysterious because it’s roughly the opposite of “as the crow flies.” Butterflies flit about rather than flying in a straight line. That actually costs them more energy, Dudley said, so scientists assume their looping flying serves some evolutionary purpose.
“The advantage is that it’s thought to be an anti-predator behavior,” Dudley said. “The claim is that irregular flight paths are a permanent signal of prey unprofitability.”
Would-be predators presumably take one look at the chaotic, loopy butterfly flight and decide to go after easier to predict snacks.
The Japanese researchers somewhat capture this oscillating type of flight with their plastic-winged flyer, but Dudley argued that the differences between the bot and a real butterfly are so great as to invalidate the biological lessons the researchers try to draw.
“There is nothing fundamentally wrong with this approach but it severely limits any claims to the biology,” Dudley said.

Nil or -ve Balance ? Don't worry BSNL customers u have a way even then too...

Hi,
This might be a good news to all the people who sticked to the government owned telecom service BSNL.
yes, those people who are with BSNL can enjoy calls even they have Nil balance or -Ve balance.Just try it once if u n't tried till now.
I have seen many Networks who disconnects the calls when the balance comes below a local call rate,
Which is truly worst to think about the service they provide. Can't they just limit to some -ve balance on the customer  who relied on them with belief.
Suppose just think of a situation, when a customer is on emergency of life and while is talking with another person the call disconnects due to nil balance  how bad it will be?

EVER THOUGHT OF THAT?
The network people don't ever imagine such situations. They need only  business with customer not a relation.
But some people quote for their customer care's as
RELATIONSHIP CENTRE. which they don't follow.

But BSNL is something different from all the others as far as i am experienced.
There may be factors that network dept takes into consideration to provide service in case of nil balance or -ve balance but BSNL provides it.

1)U can make a call even if your balance is below calling limit.
Perfectly cannot tell the limit is till Rs 10 i think.
but one thing is that u cannot send sms, u can only call.
2)U'r call continues even if ur balance gets low while you are on a call.
3)U can make a call even if u have -ve balance.

But the -ve balance will be compensated in next recharge.
HATS off BSNL.
Thats keeping the brand icon naming Government owned.

Y cannot other operators do this for their customers?
Instead they annoy with dirty messages and low balance alerts once when the balance of customer reaches below certain limit as per their rules.
Y cannot they provide with such services?

Previously one network provided with 10 Rs chota instant recharge service who don't have balance .
But i tried with 20 different numbers of that network. I got a message u'r not eligible for the request.
i have 4 years network age on that network, even me cannot do that instant sms recharge.
Then who is eligible for that ?
Only for name sake?
anyways i finish my post by just saying thanks to BSNL for the care towards customers.

Network Failure......

Yes, network problems and failure...
This is the major problem faced now-a-days even by the most popular operators and with world class network architecture's.
Y are they becoming a failure?
Y can't the failure identification  process be open to the customers?
Y don't they respond quickly when a customer complains about NO SERVICE in their area?
Y  can't they provide network even in remote places , when satellite technology is available round the globe?
Are there answers for these?
Even me too don't know.
But i would like to express my VIEWS and IDEAS regarding the same.
(They may be positive or negative)

On this occasion i would like to bring out a few of the network problems i faced in my area.
may be some of you also might be facing the same problem or just threw away the sim and bought a new operator!

Yes, it was a developed area, though comes under rural area due to village officials pressure to keep it so.
There is only one network in the beginning.
slowly there came about 3 networks which developed strongly and people started using those 3 networks now, but it gave a rich business to the people who installed a tower first. it is none other than HUTCH is now VODAFONE IN ! hats off for recognizing the place and installing a tower.
About 1000 sims sold out on the very first day, when there is news that a tower of VODAFONE  in installed other than the government owned network BSNL, which is already present!
Later AIRTEL , IDEA had their eye over the place.
Good news for the people living there.
But till now the remaining operators don't know the place, seems funny even after 5 years other operators installed their towers! i'm sorry for that..
the story is over..
i'm straight away coming into the topic now..

There are many new operators now and as they are new let them have their own time.ok
BUT HOW MUCH TIME?
HOW MANY COMPLAINTS THEY NEED TO REACT ?
See every body is in need of a mobile now a days and as the word CELL itself indicates, cells are a part of our body and so a cell is. isn't it?
Nobody buys a sim which has no network in their area,Calls the care and waits till the network people respond and use the number after the network Dept installs a tower in their area.
And this is too good to be true.

Now let me talk about the experience i had with a NETWORK LESS ,network people.
As there is no network i cannot call the care so i choose email as the best communication method.
I searched their website for the complain button ,finally found out and mailed them regarding the same.
But the problem is  "send the problem to team" after typing the complaint option is not working so i failed many times, after that i found out the mail address and manually complained them regarding the network as well as about the faulty website for which they corrected the website soon but the network cannot be corrected to a good extent till now.
They asked the details like area, address, handset model and every thing related and gave me a date for resolution .But i know that the date is just for name sake. so i did n't keep hopes on that . i gave about 15 complaints from 15 different people i know in my area who are facing same problem but the response every time is same. Finally they came and installed a tower at a place which is at moderate distance from my place , though one or two points of signal is caught by the mobile,

WHEN I RUN IN MY HOME  CATCHING THE MOBILE THE WEAK SIGNAL AGAIN VANISHES! SEE HOW STRONG NETWORK .
AND THEY QUOTE "  BEST NETWORK"!

too good to be in advertisements only!

By this one story of a network is over...

And this is about another new operator!

Ahem Ahem ... there is no network at all from the very first day!
waited 2 months .
complained about the same .
They asked the same details as the above operator did.
They said with in a week we are installing a tower.
2 months over .
again complained the same.
again asked the details they asked first time.
I was FED up with the response and stopped contacting the care because i was
TIRED AND TIRED AND AT LAST RETIRED.

BUT suddenly one day full signal of that operator...
hahahaha it was one of the most memorable day for me !i still remember
APRIL 14 as the day coz its AMBEDKAR JAYANTHI!holiday for me.
But that happiness  did not last long! A 4 DAY EVENT OR FESTIVAL.
Again after that, as it is no signal, nothing!
I again complained the same, including the date too..
They gave a resolution date too this time.will see what happens .
A person called that day asked me about the area details and said we will check it out!i'm happy, but no resolution date nothing happened even after that !
I'm still facing the same problem .

Y don't These people respond fastly to the problems?
And if there is no network at all i wouldn't have bothered at all , but they gave full signal for 4 days and now left abandoned ? whats the reason?

And this story tooo over , now the last operator. hehe!
one funny thing is that there is not even one signal bar on my handset when i placed the sim in my phone!
BUT OUR AREA IS FILLED WITH FULL OF BANNERS AND ADDS OF THAT NETWORK!
What do you say?
Y don't the people who come and post banners care about the network in that area?
They know "that particular area requires banners but not network?
Y banners when no network?
This is worst of all.
Even the previous networks who have great network did not boast,Y the operators  who  don't have networks  boast with banners?
I don't understand?
In the same way i complained to the care through mail
They are quick in responding through mail.
Love their style of care through mail!
Atlast i gave up with all the DUMB operators who don't have networks!
Let their FATE change them!who care for them !

MY WISHES/IDEAS
1)Y don't the network people put a map of their network as i discussed in my previous post "MAP O NETWORK"?
2)Y don't the complain process be open to the customers?
This being totally private the customers don't know whether they are really working on improving their network.
For example: A space on their website stating in what area their people are working for installing a tower and whats the status of the work , till now what are the places they received complaints and till what extent they covered them , all should be placed on their website.
so that the people who sees them can atleast know if their area which has no network is in black list to install a tower so that they can definitely buy a sim.

But the network people are not much cared in providing these type of services than advertising.

3)And one thing the new operators are doing mistake is they are having their tie-ups with a network which is  also a recent one, so they both don't have network and it will become a fail .
4)Y don't the network dept officials take care in providing a good network
There is a slogan in one language
"WASTE ,WASTE MIX -WASTE ONLY COMES  OUT!"

what do you say?

GOOD NEWS... 1 MONTH B'DAY!

Hi!
I would like to say a few words on this occasion  " last month exactly on APRIL 1 this blog started with just small introduction along with 2 or 3 posts and now exactly  after one month i am able to post my 22 post successfully, without any disturbances.I didn't expect that ill be able to manage my time so efficiently and publish the posts.

Now here the good news for those people who follow this blog.
Actually when ever u open the main page of this blog u can find the below message:

"Hi! Welcome to My Blog! This blog is not in favor of any TELECOM COMPANY nor against them! But just to post my Likes and Dislikes of the services and also the latest Tecknews, latest gadgets and info about telecom sector in INDIA!"

Till now i have posted only about TELECOM SECTOR but not about Gadgets anywhere.
Now i thank the PEOPLE AT  WOMWORLD of NOKIA for giving me an opportunity to write reviews about the latest gadgets .
But the review from my side takes some time excluding the time taken by WOMWORLD in providing me with the gadgets.
Guess U might be thinking , when many blogs and sites provide reviews about mobiles whats the junk available here?
S, even me too would be thinking in the same way if i work for reviewing, but i am not any official blogger who work for money or reputation, nor  have relationships with any sort of official people to write reviews so as to impress them or favour a particular device.
SO, i make it clear that i rate only according to the performance and design of the device.
hope u understand what i do say.

Now i would love to make it clear in what way i write about a mobile device and rate them accordingly.
1)BATTERY
2)SCREEN
3)KEYPAD/TOUCH SENSITIVENESS
4)SOUND-SPEAKER/EAR PIECE/HEADPHONES
5)CAMERA/FLASH
6)SPEED WITH MANY APPLICATIONS LOADED/NOT LOADED
7)STARTUP/SWITCH OFF TIMES
8)CALL CLARITY AND EXPERIENCE
9)SOFTWARE ISSUES/BUGS
10)IN THE BOX(supplied)

Totally i Rate them on a scale of 10.But the 9th category is divided into sub categories.

These are the main areas i will be concentrating more.
I have reasons for the special areas too.
because in the earlier times, even me also a normal user like every one and experienced certain issues while using phones.
I also wondered Y gadgets are made only in that way ? Y, can't in this way we expected?
so, being a normal user i can track back the general issues that occur with people.
Though my information about a particular mobile, i write about may not be as great as many of the phone reviewer sites, i hope at least some people will find it useful in their personal life experiences they face.

Also i used the words "Writing About Phone" in case of "Reviewing",because if i use the words(in my view) review again, it will become a Business/Official  as many Do.
Thanks and regards,

BeSt Of lUcK!
